Ace the Phenomenal
Our Second Road Trip

Ace and I set out on our second road trip—a four-day weekend adventure to Tallahassee, Florida—and this one was a doggone blast from start to finish. The pace was fast, the noise was nonstop, and Ace handled every moment like a seasoned pro. At the hotel, he took it upon himself to "patrol" the kids in the dining room after noticing them racing around. To my surprise, he watched them with the seriousness of a hall monitor, clearly channeling some old memories. During the event, he stayed by my side while I volunteered at the booth, keeping the area calm, organized, and—according to him—properly supervised.

And for a thrill? We confidently crossed the busiest overpass on I-10, traffic roaring beneath us and Ace guided like a champion.

Since we were already in the state capital, we spent time at the historic State Capitol Museum. Ace worked the vintage staircase beautifully, step by deliberate step and we took photos in the House of Representatives and Senate chambers. We also stopped at Governor's Square Mall for our favorite thrill ride—escalators—because why not? We did them ten times.

Ace thought it was spectacular.

A little fun insight about Ace: he was raised by an elementary school principal, so he was used to supervising kids. No wonder he instantly went into "patrol mode" at the hotel. One toddler wandered toward Ace, clearly curious but a little hesitant. Ace sat quietly, steady and calm, so I asked the toddler for a high-five to reward such excellent manners. It was a sweet moment for everyone—especially Ace.

Before heading home, we made one last stop at Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park. It was peaceful, green, and the perfect place for a scenic walk and a few photo opportunities before wrapping up our weekend.

We are incredibly proud that our second major road trip was another success. And yes—we're already planning the third. Keep your eyes peeled for the next adventure!
