Ace the Phenomenal
Our Fourth Road Trip

When I learned about the airport transportation that serves Tampa, I decided to add another road trip—our fourth—in the middle of summer.

Who says it's too hot to travel in July? I don't mind the heat as long as I know the logistics are covered and our guide work can be done indoors.

Nothing will ever stop us!

I planned a little staircase scavenger hunt where I could fulfill Ace's "cream"—his reward and delight. Naturally, I was on the lookout for pedestals where Ace could pose like a pro for photos.

Our first stop was Tampa International Airport (TPA) to meet with our trainer, Christie. We did some guide work and explored the layout of the small, but confusing airport. We had an absolute blast. Ace met Phoebe the flamingo—and to him, it was no big deal.

We stayed at a business-style hotel that, to my surprise, had no kids around! It was only a five-minute drive from the airport, offering great exposure for Ace with all the airplanes flying overhead.

We later met up with a friend and visited downtown Tampa, where we found a stunning spiral staircase—pure white and illuminated. To my surprise, I could barely see it; it looked like something straight out of Star Wars! But Ace nailed it like a champ.

I was also impressed that Ace didn't mind relaxing on faux fur—don't worry, it wasn't real!

One of the highlights of the trip was a very successful Puppy Raiser Day at International Plaza Mall. We reunited with friends and Ace's puppy raiser.

Ace was a showstopper with his phenomenal guide work, gracefully navigating two levels, escalators, and stairs.

The reunion between Ace and his puppy raiser happened in such a calm and mature setting. I couldn't be prouder of how well it turned out. The timing was just perfect.

And yes—while standing outside the hotel, the heat index broke a record: 119° Fahrenheit! Woo!
